THE COLOR GREEN, especially on food can be quite intimidating to the eye and the expression “YUCK!” automatically accompanies the sight of seeing green stuff on a plate or in a glass especially from the little people.
I’m a little different. Whenever I see the color green, especially on food that I’m going to eat, I always think HEALTHY and NUTRITIOUS! Green food is not limited to salads and vegetables like spinach and broccoli , green food can come in form of those nutritious smoothies which are so easy to prepare, drink, digest and leave you feeling like a million bucks. I am obsessed with green smoothies especially because:
1. They are Natural energy boosters.
2. They make a healthy breakfast substitute.
3. They help boost your immune system.
4. They are packed with disease-fighting antioxidants.
5. They make a much healthier option for taking care of hunger pangs. Instead of snacking on unhealthy foods, you could do with a good old smoothie.
The good thing about making smoothies is that you can get quite adventurous with your ingredients.
Mostly when creating a yummy green smoothie, the trick would be to have at least 2 cups of leafy greens (Spinach, Kale, Swiss Chard, Bok Choy), 2 cups of a liquid base (water, almond milk, fermented milk, yoghurt, coconut water, coconut milk, Orange juice) and 3 Cups of any Ripe fruit (Banana, Pineapple, Mango, Berries, Avocado, Apples, Grapes, Oranges).
TIP: Blend leafy greens and liquid base together first and then add the fruits and blend again

GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPES
*Pina Colada Green Smoothie
2 Cups Baby spinach
3 cups Pineapples
1 cup Coconut milk
1 cup water
* Bok Choy sweetness
2 cups Bok Choy
2 cups water
1 cup mango, 1 cup avocado and 1 cup banana
2 cups Sukuma wiki/kale
2 cups almond milk
1 cups mango , 1 cup grapes and 1 cup peaches
TIP : You can always boost your green smoothie with Chia seeds, hemp protein powder, Cacao, Cinnamon or Acai powder.
