A BEAUTIFUL HOME, in a beautiful, tranquil area that’s not too far from the city, surrounded by trees and a few hills in the distance where I can catch beautiful sunrises and sunsets every single day… This would be my ideal life goal! I have been planning for and working on my home goals (collecting images and dreaming counts, right?) ever since I realized as a kid that I could not stand those floral drapes my mummy dearest decked every piece of furniture in our household with. I swore to myself that I will have my own home, designed and decorated to my own liking as I’m that kind of girl who believes that creating a retreat at home every single day of your life is the only thing greater than retreating on vacation once in a while.
As with fashion, interior trends go out of style but unlike fashion interior decor is so darn costly! I always try to recreate the feel of my home at least every two years because my home to me is that place where love resides, memories are created, friends are always welcome and family is forever and so whenever I think of my future home, the images get tweaked to match those “home like a retreat” feel. I know for sure that when the time comes to get working on that particular project, I will do a darn good job!
Mandatory features in my home:
*Fusing modern with old-fashioned vibes
*Massive ceiling-to-floor windows
*All of the lights
*Colors : White, Black, Grey and Blue
*White marble surfaces
*Gold and rose gold accessories
*Beautiful, exquisite outdoors
*Plants and flowers galore
*Round shapes and clean lines
*Individual private spaces
*Books used as part of decor
My home goals include a beautiful (majestic even) hallway, a gorgeous living room with all of the lights, an entertainment area, several balconies, a guest room (or probably even a guest house), a gazebo, a home office, a beautiful patio, a massive master ensuite, a walk-in closet (not too big because I could literally live the rest of my life in my pyjamas or house shorts especially if I will be working from home), a beautiful and well stocked pantry, a swimming pool, a massive kitchen and a laundry area (for some reason I love the smell of fresh laundry and fabric softener 😀 ).
With all that in mind, let me give you a little #HomeGoals tour. Of course I’m still likely to change my mind at least every week about the whole set up but as for today, this is it! ENJOY and comment below about what you think.
PS: Of course I would add my own personality to the decor and design and not do it exactly like in the pictures.
The Living room
I have this thing where I give one room more than one personality. Sort of like the vibe you get in hotels which I absolutely love.
The Kitchen and Pantry
Main dining area
It would be lovely to dine outdoors every once in a while no?
Home office/Entertainment room/Game room
Master bedroom, Master bathroom, Walk-in closet and Balcony
And how’s this for a bedroom balcony? I am all for balconies. I wouldn’t mind a home with 10 balconies facing different parts of the compound and each with its own character based on how it is furnished or which part of the world it is facing. Picture yourself reading or meditating or just breathing…
Guest bedroom and bathroom
I hope you’ve enjoyed the tour. Next time I will share with you how I would design and decorate my very own (not leased) apartment. 🙂
